MERRY TUBACHRISTMAS LOS ANGELESNew Venue this year - Hall of Liberty, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills2011 TUBACHRISTMAS 36th Anniversary in Los Angeles Concert and Sing-a-Long Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 P.M. Registration starts at 2:00 PM, Rehearsal at 3:00 P.M. Facebook Concert Event Facebook Rehearsal Event TUBACHRISTMAS will feature hundreds of tuba and euphonium players from all over Southern California. Conductor and Coordinator: Scott Wilkinson NOTE: There are no nearby restaurants or food vendors, so bring any snacks and drinks you might like to have on hand, but please leave nothing behind. Chairs will be provided, but bring your own stand/lyre if needed. Decorate your instruments and wear bright, festive colors. Tell your friends to come join the fun! Long-time conductor/coordinator Jim Self will make an appearance, so don't miss it! PARKING: Free, lot adjacent to hall and on street. ALL Tuba, Baritone, and Euphonium Players are invited to perform. Instrumental directors: send your whole section! Spread the word It will be Saturday, December 3rd at the Hall of Liberty, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. The Concert will be from 6:00 to 7:15 PM. 2000 TUBACHRISTMAS "it was the best time, ever"!!! I'm talking about the "Merry TubaChristmas" concert in Glendale, Saturday, December 2. We arrived at the Alex Theater about 3PM for practice. It went great, as usual. We then went outside and set up under the theater marquee. They blocked off both ends of the street, set up a director's podium and sound system for the performance. We had a great crowd for the show!! Jim and Tim O'Brien conducted carols. Maestro Weiss from the Glendale Symphony did a turn, too!! The Tubadors came up next and Brad Warnaar conducted his special arrangements with "Los Tubas" million dollar pros. This venue is the best I've experienced in the seventeen years I have been involved here in California. Glendale plans for the first Saturday in December for next year.
